That is true. But I would rather bicker/argue among ourselves in our closed community and not in front of the public. I withdrew my post because singhsa3 is inviting media and other outlets to view this poll. I see no good coming out of washing our dirty linen in public.
I am neither convinced by singhsa3's arguments and nor do I buy into the whole "potential-to-buy-houses" angle (and I got red-dotted for all my previous posts, but I don't care), but if he's willing to take the efforts because he believes in what he's doing, then I don't have to be the all-freedom-of-speech guy.
So long as singhsa3's not pledging that I and my wife will buy our house #2 and house #3 only because USCIS gives us green cards, I am fine with continuing with my life and work. :)

Here's a classic example ..
If you look at the other threads on this forum you have people against the Durban bill coz it affects F-1 students . There is another section which is against Grassley coz it'll affect Consultants trying to get H1-B. I do understand Grassley's bill can have many implications and need to be opposed, but the focus still has to be towards alleviating the Employment based GC issues.
I don't think CNN is to be faulted that much coz IV itself has lost its focus towards Employment Based Green Cards. period. thats what is started out to be and needs to come back on that track instead of trying to act as a platform for all Legal Immigration issues.
Simply put IV is " EB-1/2/3- related org" ok..ok.. add in those millionaires who put in a million dollars for GC too.
The point to be made is simple. Over last few months IV members, as an organization, with all it's diverse members and even more diverse immigration problems, in general have moved towards having an opinion and pushing an agenda in a direction which may affect H1-B, F1 visas and not directly EB Green cards.
It would be more prudent if the message sent across is simple-- rather than use the term generic term of legal immigrants - it should focus towards EB-Green cards, coz very few (other than the stuck )understand that H1-B is non-immigrant visa and try to club the whole GC + H1B issue together.
From CNN's point of view (and the whole world) the Legal immigrants are GC, H1, F1, B1, L1, etc .. the onus is on IV to clear that IV stands for EB based GCs. period. Use the term "Immigrant" wisely and sparsely.

I had done some calculations long ago, it guestimated that 5~6% of people are registered with traciitt.
One guy recently posted on that out of 30 AOS applicants in his company only 2 had entered their info on .
That would be 6.67% Which is close to the results of your calculations.

My H1b saus 030, but I think the job is a 6 digit number.
Where can I locate that?

Why not put a country cap on foreign students� visas since many of them get into the green card line eventually?

Man. I laughed bcos u really made me laugh and I thank you for that.. especially after the recent omnibus fiasco...u know what I am saying..:D
any way .. my thinking is that since you have already gone thru other earlier stages and they check things at that shatte also so ..at yr 485 stage..you shud be good..so relax and njoy donot worry and also even if you worry...nothing is going to change so relax and make your family also relax as your tension will pass on to them as well...
Just njoy and be happy as I have realised being happy wards off many unwanted things which we never know might have come our way due to being depresssed...

US workers if that is the purpose. If companies are not really displacing US workers why should they bother about this rule? This rule will certainly minimise the outsourcing by laying off people as H1b persons are required for offshore co-ordination.
Rule 3 is putting ad that is just like a Labor process in green card. It will delay h1b hiring for a month and really impact will be minimal

Politics is a dirty game and to win one must get hands into the mud to beat the heck out these guys. Durbin and Grassley are not the only ones. They are the most vocal ones. Why are we hurting? Because we have been silent for way too long. It is said that the crying baby gets the most milk. We do need to raise our voice. I think in another thread Mark pointed out that we can raise our voice but be civil about it and that is what differentiates us from the rest.
The point here is that, is the EU a greener pasture than the US?
IMHO, No. Language barrier is an issue. Newer countries that have been communist in the past are still struggling to keep up with their richer cousins. There are major racial differences since historically the countries have not been immigrant friendly. Econimically the gains are minimal.
The only plus is that one stands to grow with the growth of the countries themselves. On a personal level I think I missed th boat of growth in India and now it seems futile to attempt to jump ship which I have already done once by coming here.

we discussed this on the teleconference and the idea came up that we needed something like this for people without perspective
we are hoping to refine this already excellent ppt into a valuable tool for everyone's use
