Like the other guy you said, I have an equity of 200,000 in one house and 50,000 in other house. I still don't have green card. I have around 300,000 in
401k and 150,000 in brokerage accounts. My net worth is around 800k, most of my money is in this country. If I want to continue my lifestyle, I need my GC, that will secure my right to live in this country. AFter 9 years of tax paying and law abiding life, I think i have a right to live in this country, but with this stupid laws don't know when i will get my GC.

I am into Datawarehousing and BI. Worked in multiple technology such as Oracle BI, Cognos, Informatica. It is frustrating to see my mid-size American Consulting Company charging the client a $180 per hour while I get $85K per annum. Folks I wish your suggestions would be helpful, but I have taken 3 infopass appointments, and to my badluck, everytime I visit I meet the same old-fat-lady who now happens to remember me, and says, "Didnt I tell you last time that blah blah blah ", believe me, she was not willing to even accept request to send interim ead , she gave some reason that NSC outsourced callcenter work to contractors who dont know what they are saying and send us to local office to request interim EAD. She says my FP for ead was done only in Nov(my 2nd infopass resulted in 2nd FP) so it will take 4-6 weeks after that to get EAD. Anyways I will take your advice for a 4th infopass next week.

I diagree with you...Indian film Industry have very good directors, They are no way inferior to Hollywood. Firstly you can't compre them with Hollywood because they have differen audiances...Hollywood have money power so their movies are technically better, but as far as quality of movies Indian film industry is very good...It caters to all tastes. There are Shyam Benegal, Basu Chaterjee, Govind Nihlani for people who like simple senseful movies there are Karan Johar, Yash Chopra, Mani Ratnam for expensive, hip hop movies. There's RGV, Hirani, Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra for different story based movies. In my opinion caters to wide variety you need to pick up by your taste...
I do not think there are good film institutes in India. I have interacted with many passouts from FTII and other colleges and found then lacking something. One has to travel outside India to learn and expose himself to the high quality film education.
How many of the directors you have named received any film degree?
I am not saying all Indian films are low standard compared to Hollywood films. We have trash films in Hollywood too. However the quality expectation and quality acceptance level of the viewers is low in India. Thus directors try not to push the boundaries so often.
You cannot blame everyone on budget. Indian films have big budgets by Indian standards. You cannot convert their budgets in dollars and compare with Hollywood. In my experience , I have found that by and large people in creative professions in India are hesitant to push the envelope and try to do something 'safe'. Very few can think outside the box and those few are able to produce world class work.
All this can change once viewers in India get more educated, critical and demanding. That will be the end of mediocrity and start of world class work.

You have to remember that Schedule A is a one time 50K cap. DOS mentioned that the category will be eliminated from VB soon. They expect to hit the 50K cap by the end of this month and thats why they will not accept any more new applications from then. So who ever were able to sneak in under that category, will get their GC. There will not be a Schedule A category unless congress approves again.

red splotch for you?? No thats not true... See now you have two greens for defending Franklin:) Franklin (Tamsen) did an amazing job at the rally. No one who has attended the rally has any doubt about it.

See the photos, the videos of the speeches and then talk.

Its very important that we all actively participate in getting IVs goals met. The rally was a big, for-the-first-time event, and still people seem more excited by tracking receipt notices, and the short-sightedness of it all has made many people ticked off. The turnout could easily have been higher (like someone said, see the lines to the doctors office for getting medicals done when the dates were current, and compare that with how many showed up at the rally).

Sorry!If it was rude!!No offence meant...Me thinks it is more of a pain than gain!!Like what if your 485 gets approved b4 u file for your spouse's...There are still solutions as much as problems!!It would only benefit guys who are desperate for EAD but then again if you have your I-140 cleard and with serious retrogressions expected you could still get 3 year H1B extensions!!!

That is exactly the reason why I purchased my 3rd house (additional $125000 in equity) overseas in my home country. So that I don't have to live with the feeling of having all my eggs in this country.
For now, it servers the purpose of giving me that secure feeling of not having all eggs here. Later on, it can become a retirement house.
Again, its all about planning...

We haven't been able to even get 12,000 in donations yet for advocacy days...
Next time someone questions IV's efforts, I am going to bluntly ask them if they contributed or came for the advocacy day event. If they did neither, we do not need their 2 cents of free comments.

My EAD is set to expire Oct 8th 2008.
So I applied for renewal on Jun 16th via USPS express overnight mail to Texas.
I live in Pennsylvania so had to post it to TEXAS.
USCIS already cashed the check and sent me a receipt notice!
Seriously that was ultra fast.
Since they recently announced about 2 year EADs which will be issued from Jun 30 onwards, I am concerned that the fact that they cashed the check so fast, do you think they will also give me a EAD fast, that too before Jun 30th ? If they do will that be valid for one year or 2 years? If they wait for issuing, and if that happens after Jun 30, will that be a 2 year or a 1 year one?

everyone loves their money....but think if nothing will change how much of your loved money you will spend every year to renew EAD and AP...just do the calculations and you will think that it is worth to part some of our loved money..
